Your rack documentation

RackSnap saves client and location labels, rack layouts, equipment details, scanned values, and attached photos in its local app storage. It has no RackSnap account or cloud-sync service. The app does not send your rack records or attached photos to the developer. Avoid entering passwords or access credentials in notes or photographs.

Camera and photos

Camera access supports photographs and barcode scanning. You can also select photos through your device's picker. RackSnap keeps app copies of selected images. Interrupted photo capture may leave a recovered copy available to attach later. Barcode recognition runs on your device using Google ML Kit.

Scanner technical data

Google ML Kit collects technical information for diagnostics and usage analytics, including device and app details, installation identifiers, performance, scanner configuration, event and error information. Google documents HTTPS protection for this telemetry. See https://developers.google.com/ml-kit/android-data-disclosure and https://policies.google.com/privacy for Google's information. RackSnap does not include advertising or a separate developer analytics service.

Exports, backups, and sharing

PDFs, CSV files, and .racksnap backups contain the documentation you choose to export. Backups include attached photos and are not password protected or encrypted by RackSnap. Files sent to another app, printer, cloud drive, or person are handled by that destination. Your device's system backup or transfer service may also copy app data according to its settings. Keep a manual backup before changing devices or removing the app; RackSnap cannot recover records for you from a server.

Retention and deletion

Records remain until you delete them or clear app storage. Deleting a rack also deletes its equipment records. Unreferenced saved photo copies are removed on a later successful app startup. Unattached recovered photos are retained in app storage. Clear RackSnap's storage in Android settings to remove all local app data, including recovered photos. Exported, shared, and system-backed-up copies must be deleted separately through their respective destinations. Original gallery photos are not deleted by RackSnap. The developer cannot remotely access or erase your local records.

Support and changes

If you email support, your email address and the information you provide are used to respond and resolve the request. Send only the information needed; do not include client credentials. This notice will be updated when RackSnap's data practices change. It describes the Android test app; release disclosures will be checked against the final store build.
